Description

A full CG picture! I have time to do it finally *v*
I have a long relationship with lotus not only because I'm a Buddist but because my real name means glass lotus
So I got this idea of transparent lotus with a starry sky and decided to draw it.

Please tell me what you think about this! Any comment are welcome <3

Hello! I see you requested a critique on this work ^ v ^) /
I love to critique artworks actually..
Anyway, that's not the point OTL"

I would love to start with the good points!

COMMENTS
* I really love how you drew this! The details really show in this and I can see your effort into making this artwork!
* I'm a fan of people drawing characters in nature so this actually gives me a relaxed feeling when I see this~ It's not too warm or too cool, it's just in that perfect neutral center of calmness (with color choice of course!)
* This definitely isn't your usual work, as I've been a watcher of yours for a while~ It's definitely a step forward from what you usually do~

NOW THE CRITIQUE
# What I believe should be improved upon, and I always stress this to many who are improving and looking for their "own style" of artwork, is definitely the contrast of colors. It's not so great here which gives a really flat feeling to it overall.
I think you should make the night sky and water darker. This would allow for the butterflies, moon, and water lilies to glow a little more. It'll be more appealing because it's not something you'd normally see in nature (but of course it's a mix of nature and fantasy) and it draws attention from the viewer~ It adds a little bit of a mystical element to the artwork too~

# Don't be afraid to mix a few unnatural colors in there. It definitely adds to the contrast

# I would recommend using bouncing light as a technique. Since you are improving, you should experiment with different techniques. There is a little bit of one point perspective but it's not too exaggerated, so it's not noticeable. Anyway back to the bouncing light technique.... Where it would work, you ask? Of course on the water! The lilies would definitely reflect and a little bit of the girl would reflect there too~

#Hm.... although this doesn't go for just this artwork itself, I would recommend you practicing different emotions. This is something most artists struggle with since it's so much easier to draw a calm/happy/joyful expression! There's so much more meaning that can go into this artwork if you change her expression. Like, what if she was crying instead of having a calm look? Just something to think about.

Alright, that's all for my critique! If you have any more questions, don't be afraid to ask me! Just shoot me a reply or note if you don't want to talk about it here.
Good luck with your future works! I hope for your future success! (^ v ^)/ <3333
(BTW I am a really harsh rater. Although I very much love this artwork, I do expect to see more technique implemented at your level; I hope you don't misunderstand me u A u")
